Frequently asked questions
-
01 Can I switch tiers later?
A Yes — upgrade or downgrade at any time. Pro-rated billing means you only pay for what you use. Downgrade preserves your data; we never delete content unless you explicitly ask.
-
02 What counts as an "active user" on Team?
A A seat is occupied by anyone who authenticates against your Team namespace in a billing cycle. Seats can be reassigned at any time; deactivated users free a seat immediately.
-
03 Can I self-host the relay on any paid tier?
A A self-hosted relay (data plane on-prem, control plane in Aplexica Cloud) is available on Enterprise. Personal, Pro, and Team use the Aplexica-managed relay.
-
04 What payment methods do you accept?
A Credit and debit card via Stripe for self-serve tiers. Enterprise can pay by invoice (net-30, ACH or wire) with a signed order form.
-
05 Do you offer education or non-profit pricing?
A Yes — verified students, accredited educational institutions, and registered non-profits get 50% off all paid tiers. Email sales for details once we open the program.
-
06 What happens if I downgrade or cancel?
A Your data is yours. Cloud-stored backups remain accessible for the duration of the current billing period, and you can export everything via the CLI at any time. The Open Source edition continues to work indefinitely.
-
07 Is the Open Source edition really free? Forever?
A Yes. No account required, no usage limits, no expiry. It is what the Aplexica daemon does on your machine — and that part stays free.
-
08 How do trials work?
A Every paid tier offers a 14-day trial. No credit card required. At the end of the trial your namespace stays put; if you do not start a paid subscription you automatically revert to the Open Source edition.
Not sure which tier? Start with Open Source.
If you outgrow the free edition, upgrading is one click; your local state stays in place and Cloud sync just turns on.
